Heads up. Needs a paid ChatGPT Pro or Business plan at least seven days old. Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and don't roll over; the first grant is prorated. Business credits are capped at $500 per workspace per month. Codex usage through API keys isn't covered, and the credits don't raise ChatGPT or Codex limits.

ChatGPT Pro now includes API credits that don't roll over.

OpenAI is letting eligible ChatGPT Pro and Business subscribers claim free API credits to build apps and agents.

How much:
- Pro: $100, $200 or $500 a month, matching your Pro tier
- Business: $20 per paid Standard seat and $100 per Premium seat, capped at $500 a month per workspace on monthly billing
- Plus, Enterprise, Edu and free trials don't qualify

Before you claim:
- The paid subscription must be at least 7 days old
- Use the same email for ChatGPT and the API, and own both the subscription and the API organisation
- One subscription links to one API organisation, so pick it carefully
- The first grant is prorated and unused credits expire each billing cycle
- It doesn't raise your ChatGPT or Codex limits

You claim once (on Pro, in ChatGPT under Settings, then Billing) and new credits arrive at each renewal.

Since they reset every cycle, I think they suit steady work like evals or a scheduled agent better than saving up for one big build. With no paid balance behind them, requests fail with a 429 once they run out.
